About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide law enforcement services at aviation facilities by enforcing local laws, ordinances, and TSA/FAA regulations
  • Perform foot and vehicle patrols to monitor airfield and terminal areas
  • Write detailed reports regarding regulatory violations, criminal activities, and non-criminal incidents
  • Issue traffic citations, make arrests, and use professional judgment in emergency situations
  • Administer first aid and coordinate medical notifications or transport to hospitals
  • Assist airport operations and flight services during aircraft delays or tower alerts
  • Perform central dispatching duties for police and maintenance personnel using L.E.A.D.S. and security systems

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) law enforcement training certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • United States citizenship
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination
  • Ability to pass a job-related psychological and medical examination, including a drug and nicotine screen
  • Ability to meet physical standards, including specific visual acuity and depth perception requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aviation-specific law enforcement or airport security operations
  • Previous experience with central dispatching or emergency tele-notification systems
