About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide fire prevention and suppression services to all City of Dayton Aviation facilities
- Direct protection operations to minimize loss of life and property
- Ensure emergency medical and rescue services are provided as needed for aircraft passengers and crew
- Direct emergency responses to fire alarms, aircraft alerts, and hazardous material incidents
- Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with department policies and applicable laws
- Perform approved medical care techniques as required by the GGMVEMSC or medical advisors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or related field AND 4 years of firefighting experience (including 1 year as an ARFF firefighter)
- OR Associate degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, Business Management, EMS, or related field AND 4 years of firefighting experience (including 3 years as an ARFF firefighter)
- OR High School Diploma/GED AND 8 years of experience as an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter
- Valid driver's license
- Ohio Level II Firefighter certification
- Ohio EMT Certification
- Ability to pass TSA background investigation, fingerprinting, and police investigation
- Ability to pass a job-related medical examination and drug/nicotine screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management or supervisory roles within an aviation or emergency services environment
- Advanced certifications in Fire Safety Inspection or Hazardous Materials Operations
