Responsibilities

• Lead the airframe manufacturing function from the ground up, including facilities, workflows, and tooling
• Own day-to-day operations of in-house airframe manufacturing with a focus on composite structures
• Translate engineering designs and requirements into executable manufacturing plans
• Lead, schedule, and develop a team of composite technicians and fabricators
• Supervise layup, bonding, curing, trimming, assembly, and rework activities
• Establish work instructions, build sequences, and process documentation
• Ensure safe operation of composite manufacturing equipment like autoclaves and ovens

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in high-mix, low-volume composite manufacturing or airframe fabrication
• Deep hands-on knowledge of composite materials (prepreg, wet layup, bonding, curing)
• Hands-on knowledge of metallic materials and composite-to-metal interfaces
• Experience building or scaling manufacturing operations in a development environment
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams
• Ability to work from engineering drawings, ply books, and CAD models
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and inspection practices
