Airfield Systems Lead

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority and subject matter expert for airfield and airside operational systems within a major Master Systems Integration (MSI) programme.
• Lead technical engineering and integration activities for systems including A-SMGCS, ALCMS, MLAT/WAM, ATMS, ILS, and meteorological platforms.
• Provide technical leadership for CNS and airfield systems integration involving ATC systems and ANSP operational platforms.
• Manage technical scope definition, systems specifications, performance requirements, and systems architecture coordination.
• Lead technical reviews of design submissions, systems engineering deliverables, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Develop and review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure coordinated integration between airfield systems, ICT infrastructure, and terminal systems.
• Define and review FAT, SAT, integrated systems testing, operational validation, and commissioning acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with airport operators, ANSP stakeholders, ATC teams, EPC contractors, and technology vendors to resolve technical interface issues.
• Monitor technical compliance with ICAO standards, GACA regulations, and airport operational requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems, Telecommunications, or Aviation Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in aviation systems engineering, airport operational technologies, or CNS systems.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in major international airport programmes involving airfield systems integration.
• Demonstrated experience with airport CNS systems and ATC/ANSP integration environments.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO standards and GACA regulations.
• Proven experience in systems engineering, design review, interface management, and testing & commissioning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GCC airport programmes.
• Extensive knowledge of specific airfield operational platforms such as A-SMGCS and navigation systems.
• Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting capabilities within multidisciplinary programme environments.
