Aircraft Upholstery/Sewing Tech

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, and design upholstery, cover panels, and simple patterns for aircraft interiors
• Fit panels, windows, cabin head liners, sidewalls, and hatch panels
• Create and install carpet patterns based on design drawings
• Use material tracking systems like Corridor to create parts demand and sign off work
• Work with fabric, vinyl, leather, and composites using specified adhesives and tools
• Implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma techniques
• Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians and oversee projects as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience with commercial sewing machines, sergers, and upholstery hand tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
• Proficiency in basic math and use of measuring tools
• Computer literacy
• Physical ability to climb ladders, work in restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work any shift
• English language proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years of upholstery experience, including 2 years specifically in aircraft upholstery
• Advanced knowledge of custom carpet installation
• Experience with Lean Six-Sigma tools
