Aircraft Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Author, maintain, and own the verification plan for aircraft-level system requirements
• Work with the Certification Flight Test Team to review plans for compliance and coverage
• Coordinate with Systems Teams to ensure aircraft requirements are fully verified
• Develop detailed test procedures and verification approaches (Analysis, Simulation, Inspection)
• Plan and manage the aircraft-level verification test schedule across flight, ground, and lab environments
• Lead or support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
• Track verification activity status and manage closure of test points
• Author aircraft-level verification reports and coordinate with DERs and the FAA

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering
• In-depth knowledge of SAE ARP 4754A and ARP 4761
• Experience with requirements-based testing, regression testing, and traceability audits
• Proficiency with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools like Polarion
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Ability to work onsite in South Burlington, Vermont

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience on Part 23, 25, or 27 aircraft or rotorcraft programs
• Flight Test experience and familiarity with aircraft certification flight test
• Background in aerospace verification & validation in a certifying environment
