Aircraft Structural Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform structural assembly operations including fitting, drilling, and riveting of detail parts and structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, lofts, sketches, and engineering drawings
• Use pneumatic tools, riveting guns, countersinks, reamers, and files to complete assignments
• Align and assemble parts using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners
• Perform repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT) and Production Change Orders (PCO)
• Maintain accurate logs and records including MIR sheets and DMTs
• Support Lean and 5S programs to maintain a safe and orderly work area
• Mentor and train team members on blueprint interpretation and production methods (Senior levels)

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience ranging from entry-level (technical aviation program enrollment) to 6 years of structural assembly
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions
• Proficiency in basic shop math and using measuring devices within specified tolerances
• Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs and work in small spaces or climb ladders
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Solumina and Smarteam software
• Q-Stamp certification
• Experience working with composite resins and materials
