Aircraft Mechanic - Powerplant

Responsibilities

• Perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot level maintenance, including inspection, repair, and troubleshooting on assigned aircraft power plant systems and components.
• Maintain aircraft main, auxiliary, and secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level, and bleed air components.
• Conduct troubleshooting, testing, and operational checks of power plant systems, replacing or repairing components such as fuel controls, pumps, and engine-mounted gearboxes.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, and repair engine parts at the organizational level.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical directives, test specifications, and safety manuals.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to other employees as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of aircraft maintenance experience within the last eight years.
• At least two years of experience in the military or with a government aviation maintenance contractor.
• Recent experience with F-18A-F, EA-18G, E-2C, or MH-60S aircraft.
• Proven experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Ability to work all assigned shifts and schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• High degree of expertise in aircraft systems and operational capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance/technical manuals and special test equipment.
• NALCOMIS/OOMA training.
• Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) experience.
• Plane Captain or Aircraft Towing certifications.
• Experience with Egress System Checkout or Fuel Surveillance.
