Aircraft Mechanic II Aircrewman

Responsibilities

• Perform in-flight duties as a Functional Check Civilian Aircrewman, including in-flight observation, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs.
• Assist Maintenance Test Pilots with aircraft functional checks, such as run-ups and magnetic compass swings.
• Conduct aircraft maintenance duties when not performing flight mechanic duties.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation using the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
• Operate aircraft towing equipment and utilize specialized tools, hoists, and test equipment.
• Provide customer support during launch and recovery and ensure aircraft security on the flight line.
• Perform housekeeping duties and ensure all tools and equipment are properly calibrated.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Minimum of three (3) years of H-60 aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must be MDS qualified or have at least two years of experience in the applicable MDS classification.
• Must hold or be able to obtain an FAA or Military Class II Medical Certificate.
• Ability to pass a Class II swim qualification and complete Aviation Physiology and Water Survival Qualification.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Industrial Security Clearance.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing on-the-job training (OJT) to newly assigned personnel.
• Proficiency in using the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
• Qualification as an ATABS Operator.
