Aircraft Mechanic I

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, and engines for UH-60, AH-64, and CH-47 aircraft.
• Perform sheet metal and structural repairs, including wings, fuselage, and functional components using specialized tools and equipment.
• Conduct 100-hour, progressive, and periodic inspections to detect malfunctions, cracks, corrosion, or wear.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, and engineering data to determine repair methods.
• Replace or repair worn components such as carburetors, fuel pumps, and engine-mounted gearboxes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and verify that all work performed meets safety and technical specifications.

Requirements

• 3 years of aviation maintenance experience.
• 2 years of rotary wing aircraft experience.
• 2 years of experience on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
• Must provide own tools and toolbox (tools must be shadowed and etched with PID).
• Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 45 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid and up-to-date A&P license.
• Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications.
