Aircraft Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and DoD regulations
• Conduct daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft
• Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on aircraft systems
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate repairs
• Support the overall mission through various aircraft servicing functions and potential travel to temporary duty sites
• Maintain compliance with procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials

Requirements

• Valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings
• US Citizenship (required for CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance)
• High school graduate or equivalency certificate
• Valid State driver’s license
• Knowledge of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft systems, including airframes, hydraulics, fuel, electrical, and engines
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, squatting, and working with arms overhead

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of experience working with rotary-wing aircraft
• Experience with UH-60 Blackhawk aircraft
