About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet by performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft engines, components, and avionics systems.
- Inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines, for damage, defects, or corrosion.
- Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures and systems following technical drawings, schematics, and engineering orders.
- Repair worn or defective parts using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot discrepancies and interpret technical manuals to identify required next steps.
- Document all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in repair logs and computer systems.
- Ensure all work activities adhere to established laws, FAA regulations, and safety protocols.
Requirements
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and a DOT-required drug screen.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of full-time mechanical or aircraft maintenance experience.
- Prior experience in the airline industry or heavy jet maintenance.
- Military experience.
- Prior electronics/avionics experience or an FCC license.
