Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet by performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft engines, components, and avionics systems.
• Inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines, for damage, defects, or corrosion.
• Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures and systems following technical drawings, schematics, and engineering orders.
• Repair worn or defective parts using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and interpret technical manuals to identify required next steps.
• Document all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in repair logs and computer systems.
• Ensure all work activities adhere to established laws, FAA regulations, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check and a DOT-required drug screen.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of full-time mechanical or aircraft maintenance experience.
• Prior experience in the airline industry or heavy jet maintenance.
• Military experience.
• Prior electronics/avionics experience or an FCC license.
