About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and inspect Delta's aircraft fleet, engines, and avionics systems in accordance with FAA specifications
- Perform inspections on aircraft components including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and tires to ensure airworthiness
- Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures and systems following technical drawings, schematics, and engineering orders
- Troubleshoot discrepancies and malfunctions by interpreting maintenance logs and technical manuals
- Document all preventative and corrective maintenance activities in repair logs and computer systems
- Use hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment to repair worn or defective parts
- Ensure all work activities adhere to established safety protocols and regulations to protect self and others
Requirements
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Ability to pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and participate in random testing
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Authorization to work in the United States and must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of full-time mechanical or aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience with heavy jet maintenance
- Prior military experience or experience in the airline industry
- Prior electronics/avionics experience or an FCC license
- Current Delta employee status
