About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet by inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance for aircraft, engines, and avionics systems.
- Perform inspections on aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines, to ensure airworthiness.
- Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures and systems following technical drawings, schematics, and engineering orders.
- Repair worn or defective parts using hand tools, gauges, and specialized testing equipment.
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues and identify required repairs.
- Document all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in repair logs and computer systems.
- Adhere to all established laws, FAA regulations, and safety protocols to ensure the safety of self and others.
Requirements
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work rotating shifts as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Authorization to work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of full-time mechanical or aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience with heavy jet maintenance.
- Prior military experience or experience in the airline industry.
- Prior electronics/avionics experience or an FCC license.
