About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet by performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft engines, components, and avionics systems
- Inspect aircraft components including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines for damage, defects, or corrosion
- Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures and systems following technical drawings, schematics, and engineering orders
- Repair worn or defective parts using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment
- Document all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in repair logs and computer systems
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues and identify required next steps
- Ensure all work activities adhere to established laws, FAA regulations, and safety protocols
Requirements
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Ability to work rotating shifts as needed
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Authorization to work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of full-time mechanical or aircraft maintenance experience
- Prior experience with heavy jet maintenance
- Prior military experience
- Prior work experience in the airline industry
- Prior electronics/avionics experience or an FCC license
