About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues exceeding published limits for structural damage
- Perform structural analysis for sheet metal and composite repairs
- Provide work deviation authorization and interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders
- Offer repair versus replacement options to minimize financial impact
- Assist Line Maintenance with aircraft system troubleshooting
- Attend daily production and pre-induction meetings to ensure timely support
- Coordinate with Engineering Fleet Groups for troubleshooting and follow-up
- Monitor trends and recurring discrepancies to develop typical repairs and manual supplements
Requirements
- BS Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in a specific technical discipline
- Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
- Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM)
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule (7 on/7 off rotation)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aircraft, airline, MRO, or aviation engineering environments
