Aircraft Cabinetmaker

Responsibilities

• Fabricate aircraft furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings
• Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells and install hardware such as drawer-slides, hinges, and latches
• Apply exterior surface materials including laminates, veneers, and cap strips
• Utilize stationary and hand-held power tools for fabrication and disassembly
• Use material tracking systems to create parts demand and sign off completed work
• Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies while protecting aircraft interiors
• Implement process improvements using Lean Six-Sigma techniques to reduce cost and cycle time

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience in woodworking, wood finishing, auto body, or painting in a technical environment
• Up to 4 years of cabinetmaking experience (aerospace industry preferred)
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work in small, restricted areas
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Computer literacy
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Valid driver's license may be required
• Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required
