Aircraft Cabinet Finisher

Responsibilities

• Prepare and apply finishes to aircraft furniture using specifications, designs, and engineering drawings
• Perform high-quality repairs to finished surfaces in the shop and aboard aircraft
• Use spray equipment, hand tools, and power tools to disassemble and finish furniture
• Utilize material tracking systems to create parts demand and sign off work
• Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies while using personal protective equipment
• Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians (for senior levels)
• Implement process improvements using Lean Six-Sigma techniques

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience in woodworking, wood finishing, auto body, or painting in a technical environment
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work in small, restricted areas
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Computer literacy
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Valid driver's license may be required
• Ability to participate in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a technical certificate in cabinetmaking
• Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products
• Experience with Lean Six-Sigma tools
