Air Vehicle Operator 2

Responsibilities

• Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
• Provide Mission Coordinator/Commander support to the team when not acting as PIC
• Perform mission planning and coordination activities under varying airspace conditions
• Monitor all aircraft systems to ensure safe and legal operations
• Maintain situational awareness of mission environments and target dynamics
• Coordinate ground and flight activities and produce mission-related presentations

Requirements

• US citizenship and valid US passport
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• FAA Private Pilot’s License (PPL) with Instrument rating
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
• 100+ flight hours on UAS platforms acting as PIC
• 2-4 years of relative experience in UAS flight systems and operations
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance
• Ability to meet combatant command theatre entry requirements (e.g., CENTCOM)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe forms

Preferred Qualifications

• 500-1000 hours of Manned Aviation experience
• 200-500 UAS PIC flight hours (Group 3+ preferred)
• Experience controlling aircraft Beyond Line of Sight and associated data links
• Experience with Piccolo PCC or other Auto Pilot systems
• Experience in aviation field in OCONUS or CONUS locations
