Air Import Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage air import shipments and coordinate with airlines and clients to provide flight status and arrival updates
• Track cargo arrivals via web and coordinate with JAS origin and warehouses
• Generate notices of arrival, dispatch instructions, and freight/handling invoices
• Report missing documents or packages to customer service, origin, and customers
• Ensure timely compliance with customs transmissions and regulations
• Notify clients immediately upon the arrival of their cargo
• Perform daily tracking of all pending flights and report delays

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in air imports (or a combination of education and expertise)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong knowledge of US customs laws, practices, and procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cargowise (C1)
• Knowledge of import entry procedures, compliance, rules, and regulations
• OGA experience
