About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead air permitting efforts for small to large projects, including reviewing upcoming projects for NSR applicability.
- Serve as the refinery regulatory subject matter expert for federal and state air compliance.
- Manage and oversee emissions testing and reporting.
- Interpret and develop company environmental policies, guidelines, and implementation procedures.
- Advise managers and supervisors on company environmental goals and requirements.
- Design or review engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment or systems.
- Represent the company with regulatory agencies, trade associations, and industry work groups.
- Track key compliance metrics and facilitate improvements to site environmental management systems.
- Lead and participate in environmental compliance audits at the site and other locations.
- Provide back-up support for other environmental media such as water, waste, and remediation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 10 years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (e.g., refining, midstream, petrochemical); OR Bachelor’s degree in a HES-related field with 5 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience with environmental air permitting.
- Knowledge of federal and Washington air regulations.
- Ability to monitor compliance with environmental regulations and develop technical knowledge.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.
