Air Condition Technician II

Responsibilities

• Perform complex HVAC equipment work including installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
• Overhaul and service air conditioning, heating, ventilating, and power distribution equipment
• Repair and replace worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, water pumps, and vacuum pumps
• Test refrigeration equipment for leaks and adjust expansion valves or add gas to units
• Maintain, test, and repair backup generators and power supply systems
• Perform preventive maintenance, check gauges, and maintain detailed service records
• Plan and oversee the installation of HVAC systems and may supervise the work of others

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Vocational or special training in Air Conditioning
• At least one (1) year of experience in HVAC work
• Valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license
• Ability to obtain a Texas Class B certification within one year
• Ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in supervising the work of other technicians
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical sketches
