AI/ML Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implementing and maintaining RAG pipelines, including document processing, embedding generation, retrieval configuration, and prompt assembly
• Integrating LLMs into applications using available APIs and frameworks
• Developing and maintaining REST API interactions to support data retrieval and system integration
• Designing and/or refining Postgres schemas to improve data organization and query performance

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
• Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 7 years with Masters, or 6 years with Doctorate)
• Experience developing AI/ML applications focused on RAG, semantic retrieval, or LLM integration
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern AI/ML libraries
• Ability to conduct independent technical research and apply advanced analytical problem-solving
• Willingness to work onsite full time in McLean, VA

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced research experience in machine learning, NLP, generative AI, or computer vision
• Experience publishing research or contributing to open-source AI/ML initiatives
• Familiarity with model evaluation frameworks, fine-tuning, and inference optimization
• Experience with vector databases, AWS, Docker, and containerized workflows
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and scalable data architectures
