AI Working Student

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on with the Data Platform to consolidate structured and unstructured test, flight, and process data
• Build and maintain complex web applications focusing on backend development
• Create applications for real-time data monitoring with various visualization types
• Improve general system performance and responsiveness
• Author technical and user documentation
• Contribute to architectural decisions based on trade-off analysis

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in C#, Java, Rust, or Python
• Practical experience with data streaming frameworks (Kafka, Flink, MQTT, Redis, etc.)
• Proficiency in handling high-frequency scientific data streaming (e.g., time series)
• Experience designing microservices architectures and APIs
• Experience with Protobuf encoding and columnar file formats (Parquet, Arrow, zarr, etc.)
• Experience with automated software testing and CI/CD (preferably GitLab)

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with RESTful and WebSocket-based applications
• Experience with OLAP column-oriented databases such as Druid or Clickhouse
• Understanding of infrastructure, cloud services, and networking
• Experience with front-end frameworks, preferably React
• Knowledge of Aerospace Engineering domain use cases
