AI Software Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of six direct reports, fostering their professional growth and career development.
• Own the technical strategy and execution for the CK AI Service, including RAG workflow design and API expansion.
• Improve delivery velocity, reduce bottlenecks, and eliminate single points of failure within the platform.
• Drive standardization and cross-functional alignment as the platform matures.
• Establish sustainable leadership models to support the planned growth and division of the engineering team.
• Collaborate closely with the Data Science team to drive the product roadmap and feature design.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and managing engineering teams, including performance management.
• Deep expertise in designing and delivering distributed systems and APIs at scale.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows.
• Strong understanding of LLM integration, orchestration, embeddings, and vector search.
• Experience with microservices architecture and system integration.
• Ability to define technical strategies that balance immediate delivery with long-term sustainability.
• Proven track record of building high-performing, collaborative team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI-powered APIs and services specifically for production environments.
• Ability to govern and standardize AI patterns, including evaluation, observability, and performance optimization.
• Experience managing the transition of teams through periods of rapid scaling and structural change.
