AI Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML models for fraud detection, AML alert scoring, credit memo drafting, and contact center assistants
• Leverage LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and transformers
• Embed explainability using SHAP and conduct bias testing
• Produce audit-ready documentation and manage model lifecycle per SR 11-7
• Deploy and operate models natively on Snowflake using Snowpark Python, UDFs/UDTFs, and Tasks/Streams
• Partner with Engineering to integrate models via secure APIs and ensure scalability
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements including ECOA, Reg B, and NYDFS cybersecurity standards
• Evaluate emerging ML/GenAI methods and mentor junior staff

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant work experience
• Expertise in Python (pandas, scikit-learn), deep learning (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and NLP/LLMs
• Proficiency in MLOps, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker)
• Snowflake-native ML proficiency (Snowpark Python, UDFs/UDTFs, Tasks/Streams)
• Data engineering competency in SQL, ETL, and Spark/PySpark
• Experience with model explainability and fairness testing
• Strong understanding of SR 11-7 lifecycle and governance

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Statistics
• Financial services domain experience (fraud, AML, or underwriting)
• Hands-on experience with RAG architectures and prompt engineering
• Familiarity with third-party risk (SR 23-4) and NYC Local Law 144
