AI Research Scientist, VLM (vision language models)

Responsibilities

• Push the state of the art in multimodal generative AI and vision language models (VLM)
• Explore new techniques for advanced reasoning and multimodal understanding for AI Assistants
• Lead, collaborate, and execute research that drives long-term ambitious research goals
• Directly contribute to experiments, including designing details, writing reusable code, and running evaluations
• Mentor AI/ML engineers to bridge the gap between research and production
• Contribute to scientific publications and open-source efforts

Requirements

• PhD in AI, computer science, or a related technical field
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field
• Proven track record of publications in machine learning, computer vision, NLP, or speech
• Experience writing software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets
• Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• First (joint) author publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, or ACL
• Direct experience in generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) research
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (or equivalent frameworks)
