AI Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead open-ended research projects from concept to production, applying machine learning and LLMs to generate signals from unstructured data.
• Identify compelling problems suited to current and projected LLM capabilities.
• Collaborate extensively with trading teams to understand requirements and constraints.
• Continuously improve model design, tools, and infrastructure to support quantitative research.
• Develop and deploy frontier AI capabilities, including agentic systems and model research.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience creating ML systems with measurable impact in industry or academia.
• Strong general machine learning background with exposure to language modeling architectures (e.g., transformers, SSMs).
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong publication record at top-tier conferences (e.g., ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, AAAI).
• Ability to reason through complex quantitative problems and communicate effectively with researchers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HPC and distributed large model training.
• Experience with GPU performance optimization (CUDA or ROCm).
• Experience with end-to-end model development, specifically in Large Language Models.
• Contributions to open-source AI research.
