AI Research Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and iterate on AI models and orchestration systems for AI therapy
• Improve conversation quality and therapeutic alliance through fine-tuning and RL environments
• Maintain a robust evaluation stack including LLM-as-judge and human ratings
• Own the production codebase, model packaging, deployment, and monitoring
• Implement clinical guardrails and safety alignment through red teaming and reward functions
• Execute a research roadmap and run high-quality experiments from hypothesis to analysis
• Collaborate with clinicians and product engineers to integrate AI capabilities

Requirements

• Strong experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), fine-tuning, and training data design
• Experience shipping production-level code and maintaining AI systems
• Proficiency in setting up production-level data pipelines
• Scientific mindset with strong hypothesis testing and data analysis skills
• Ability to prioritize projects based on company value and speed of iteration

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal or professional experience with therapy or coaching
• Domain knowledge in psychology, neuroscience, or clinical practice
