AI/ML Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own AI systems and features end-to-end, from identifying product opportunities to shipping production improvements.
• Design and improve the agent harness that powers the tutoring experience, including instructional decision-making and adaptation.
• Develop learner profiling systems to build models of each child's strengths, gaps, and engagement patterns.
• Collaborate with learning experts to build infrastructure measuring educational quality, safety, latency, and behavior.
• Build and operate evaluation systems and data flywheels to continuously improve product quality through experimentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building AI products in an engineering or research role.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to write clean, maintainable Python code.
• Proven experience building and operating AI evaluation or measurement systems.
• Solid machine learning foundations and the ability to implement components from recent ML papers.
• Proficiency in applied mathematics and linear algebra.
• Ability to thrive in an experimental environment and make technical decisions with incomplete information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with low-latency inference at scale.
• Experience with model training.
• Familiarity with speech systems.
• Strong product intuition and the ability to identify meaningful metrics.
• Public projects demonstrating technical creativity.
