AI Innovation Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a university-wide AI innovation strategy and roadmap aligned with institutional goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging AI tools for curriculum design, research automation, and administrative workflows.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and IT teams to integrate AI into academic programs and campus operations.
• Manage AI pilots and proof-of-concept projects, including budgeting, timelines, and risk assessment.
• Promote responsible and ethical AI use, focusing on governance, bias mitigation, and data privacy compliance.
• Design and deliver training programs and workshops to build AI literacy among faculty, staff, and students.
• Supervise employees and student workers, providing direction and performance appraisals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in AI/ML, technology strategy, or digital innovation.
• Deep knowledge of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and machine learning.
• Strong understanding of AI ethics, data governance, and privacy considerations.
• Proven experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws, including FERPA.
• Ability to uphold the University’s Christ-centered mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
• Experience in higher education environments or research institutions.
• Familiarity with academic technology ecosystems and ERP/SIS systems such as Banner, Salesforce, or Canvas.
• Experience in agent/bot creation and innovation management.

• Competitive annual compensation ranging from $122,600.00 to $135,000.00.
