AI FinOps Consultant

Responsibilities

• Help clients apply FinOps principles to cloud and AI investments, focusing on visibility, accountability, and value realization
• Assess client cloud, AI, and data cost management practices to identify maturity gaps and risks
• Design and implement FinOps operating models, governance processes, and reporting structures
• Analyze consumption patterns to identify cost drivers and optimization opportunities for AI-specific use cases, including token usage and GPU management
• Partner with engineering, finance, and product stakeholders to connect technical consumption data to business value
• Develop dashboards and executive-ready insights regarding cost, usage, and performance trends
• Facilitate workshops to align client stakeholders on FinOps practices and adoption roadmaps

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud governance, or technology finance
• Strong understanding of FinOps principles (visibility, allocation, optimization, and value management)
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of AI/ML architecture and cost drivers, including token-based pricing and GPU utilization
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to work with normalized cost and usage datasets
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical and financial concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• FinOps Foundation certifications (Certified Practitioner or Certified AI Value)
• Experience with the FOCUS format for normalizing multi-cloud cost data
• Proficiency with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability)
• Experience developing FinOps dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
• Knowledge of AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI
