AI Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead on co-sell motions with Strategic Partners, building reference architectures and joint POCs.
• Build end-to-end MVPs alongside partner engineering teams within their specific infrastructure and constraints.
• Run load tests to establish latency, throughput, and cost baselines for realistic customer traffic.
• Deploy and validate new model families on inference frameworks like vLLM and SGLang.
• Guide customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategies (SFT, DPO, RFT), and evaluation methodologies.
• Surface partner-driven product gaps to the engineering team to influence the product roadmap.
• Create external technical content including integration guides and benchmark posts.

Requirements

• 3+ years in pre-sales, partner engineering, forward-deployed, or technical consulting roles.
• Proven ability to ship production software within customer environments.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with LLM inference, including quantization, batching, and function calling.
• Practical experience with fine-tuning techniques such as LoRA.
• Deep familiarity with the Azure AI stack (Azure Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure ML, AKS).
• Exceptional communication skills for both technical debugging and executive presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical field roles owning relationships with hyperscalers or major SIs.
• Experience with inference serving frameworks like vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM.
• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Background in rigorous model evaluation methodologies.
• Track record of moving GenAI POCs into production-scale deployments.
