AI Engineer, Voice Designer

Responsibilities

• Own the integration and optimization of multiple TTS vendor APIs
• Lead research and prototyping for open-source or in-house TTS architectures
• Apply expertise in phonetics and sociolinguistics for SSML orchestration and pronunciation
• Craft context-specific utterances to optimize conversational turn handling
• Design and manage LLM and TTS prompts and parameters for agent personalities
• Architect logic to expose voice attributes like speed, pitch, and tone to the product UI
• Partner with ASR and Audio AI engineers to minimize latency in the pipeline

Requirements

• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
• 3+ years of experience in Speech Synthesis (TTS) or Voice Design
• Hands-on experience with frameworks like NVIDIA NeMo, ESPnet, or Coqui
• Experience with TTS APIs such as ElevenLabs, Rime, or Cartesia
• Degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or AI/ML
• Deep understanding of phonetics, prosody, and syntax
• Proven experience in LLM prompt engineering
• Experience building production-grade APIs in cloud environments (GCP preferred)
• Knowledge of speech quality metrics like MOS and intelligibility
