AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design agent systems from first principles, including loops, tools, context strategies, and evaluation harnesses
• Engineer context windows, tool surfaces, structured outputs, and citation grounding
• Drive evaluation rigor by building evals to diagnose and fix model failures
• Utilize AI tooling like Claude Code and Codex to plan, scaffold, and debug work
• Develop deep domain expertise in healthcare claims and medical coding guidelines

Requirements

• 2–4 years of applied ML/AI engineering experience or a Master's degree with relevant research/open-source work
• Strong Python engineering skills including clean abstractions and async code
• Deep understanding of agent loops and tool-calling mechanics
• Hands-on experience with agent SDKs such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Anthropic SDK
• Proficiency with modern coding agents and AI-assisted development
• Solid command of VS Code and git workflows
• Strong bias toward measurement and reproducible evaluation metrics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing structured outputs using Pydantic or JSON Schema
• Familiarity with reasoning models like o-series or Claude extended thinking
• Experience with long-context, citation-grounded systems
• Background in healthcare, legal, or finance domains
• Knowledge of OCR, layout-aware models, or vision-language models
