About the Company

Boom is on a mission to level the playing field for the 110+ million renters in the US by making housing more flexible, affordable, and rewarding. We are building a suite of rental financial services, including tenant screening, rent payment reporting, and integrations with major property management systems.

Responsibilities

• Ship customer-facing production AI features across Boom's product
• Drive internal AI productivity through tooling, workflows, and automations
• Own the full agent stack including prompts, tools, memory, retrieval, orchestration, evals, and observability
• Build eval and feedback loops to improve agents safely via offline evals, online metrics, and human review queues
• Partner with product and leadership to identify and ship high-impact AI bets
• Help shape engineering hiring and AI operational processes

Requirements

• 5+ years in web development
• 1-2 years building production LLM features or agents
• Hands-on experience with Anthropic/OpenAI APIs and agent patterns (tool use, structured outputs, RAG, multi-step planning)
• Experience building or owning an eval suite
• Backend-leaning full stack proficiency in Ruby and Python (Grape and Sequel)
• Frontend proficiency in React/Next.js and TypeScript
• Experience with third-party APIs (OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, idempotency)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, early-stage environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with voice AI stacks (LiveKit, Deepgram, ElevenLabs)
• Experience with vector stores and retrieval pipelines
• Experience with AWS and Terraform
