AI Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build the backbone of Klarity's AI platform by designing and deploying backend services
• Implement AI orchestration pipelines including tool calling, state management, and grounding
• Design for enterprise security, including least-privilege access and tenant isolation
• Build and extend evals and guardrails to ensure agent reliability
• Balance long-term architectural vision with high-velocity shipping

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience shipping production code or exceptional portfolio for new grads
• Experience building at least one meaningful AI-powered project
• Proficiency with backend services, APIs, and data models
• Ability to use AI-native development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot
• Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data ingestion
• Understanding of LLM orchestration and multimodal agents
