AI Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship agentic workflows and LLM-powered product features including planning, memory, and tool orchestration
• Partner with leadership to provide technical feasibility and effort estimates for AI features
• Design retrieval architectures using vector retrieval, RAG, or hybrid approaches
• Establish evaluation systems to define accuracy, correctness, and safety metrics
• Harden AI features for production by managing APIs, latency, cost, and PII/PHI safety
• Build internal-operations agentic pipelines to automate marketing, sales, and support workflows
• Educate the broader engineering team on incorporating agentic flows into standard product work

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• 1+ year of hands-on experience with production LLM/AI features shipped to real users
• Strong Python skills and comfort with TypeScript
• Experience with at least one agent framework and multiple retrieval approaches
• Production experience with major LLM provider APIs
• Proven ability to measure AI feature quality in production
• Working professional English with strong async written communication skills
• Must reside in Mexico

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Voice AI technologies
• Experience working with regulated data (HIPAA, PII/PHI)
• Experience with local or self-hosted LLMs and open-weight models
• Deep experience with the Anthropic/Claude ecosystem
• Experience with LLM observability tools like LangSmith or Braintrust
• Background in traditional ML or data science
• Experience with Django and PostgreSQL
