AI and Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the development of data-driven solutions for the operation and maintenance of steam and gas turbines
• Assist the Engineering team in supporting Mitsubishi and former Hitachi Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Control Systems and Auxiliary Equipment
• Work alongside a Principal Engineer to develop and implement innovative digital engineering solutions
• Apply AI and machine learning techniques to address practical engineering challenges
• Support the deployment and integration of established AI solutions across the organisation
• Assist in root cause analysis and technical investigations for customer and operational issues
• Prepare technical documentation, engineering procedures, reports and project documentation
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
• Support unplanned or forced outage investigations by providing AI/ML expertise
• Provide technical support to commercial teams during sales and service proposal activities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a related discipline
• Good understanding of data analysis, statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
• Experience using AI/ML frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Pandas, Matplotlib and Scikit-learn
• Knowledge of mathematics including calculus, probability, statistics, linear algebra and optimisation
• Strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures and parallel/distributed computing
• Programming experience in Python, Java, C or C++
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of gas and steam turbine operation
• Experience with SQL and Power BI
• Experience with 3D CAD software
• Knowledge of Finite Element Modelling (FEM)
