About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the development of data-driven solutions for the operation and maintenance of steam and gas turbines
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to address practical engineering challenges and improve operational performance
- Support the deployment and integration of AI solutions across the organisation
- Assist in root cause analysis and technical investigations for customer and operational issues
- Prepare technical documentation, engineering procedures, reports and project documentation
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide AI/ML expertise for unplanned or forced outage investigations
- Support commercial teams during sales and service proposal activities
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, ML or related discipline (completed or due to complete soon)
- Good understanding of data analysis, statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
- Experience using AI/ML frameworks and libraries including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Pandas, Matplotlib and Scikit-learn
- Knowledge of mathematics including calculus, probability, statistics, linear algebra and optimisation
- Strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures and parallel/distributed computing
- Programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, C or C++
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of gas and steam turbine operation
- Experience with SQL and Power BI
- Experience with 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of Finite Element Modelling (FEM)
