AI and Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the development of data-driven solutions for the operation and maintenance of steam and gas turbines
• Apply AI and machine learning techniques to address practical engineering challenges and improve operational performance
• Support the deployment and integration of AI solutions across the organisation
• Assist in root cause analysis and technical investigations for customer and operational issues
• Prepare technical documentation, engineering procedures, reports and project documentation
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
• Provide AI/ML expertise for unplanned or forced outage investigations
• Support commercial teams during sales and service proposal activities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, ML or related discipline (completed or due to complete soon)
• Good understanding of data analysis, statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
• Experience using AI/ML frameworks and libraries including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Pandas, Matplotlib and Scikit-learn
• Knowledge of mathematics including calculus, probability, statistics, linear algebra and optimisation
• Strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures and parallel/distributed computing
• Programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, C or C++
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of gas and steam turbine operation
• Experience with SQL and Power BI
• Experience with 3D CAD software
• Knowledge of Finite Element Modelling (FEM)
