AI and Data Strategist - Principal

Responsibilities

• Lead executive workshops and discovery sessions to assess business priorities, AI readiness, and data maturity.
• Develop enterprise AI and data strategies, operating models, governance approaches, and implementation roadmaps.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact AI and data opportunities across various business functions.
• Advise clients on foundational data capabilities, including governance, data quality, and responsible AI practices.
• Partner with technical teams, including architects and data scientists, to align strategic recommendations with delivery realities.
• Support business development through proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations.
• Contribute to Slalom’s practice development through mentoring, thought leadership, and reusable assets.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in consulting, enterprise strategy, digital transformation, or technology advisory.
• 3+ years of experience specifically focused on AI, data, analytics, or intelligent automation initiatives.
• Proven experience developing enterprise AI and/or data strategies and governance models.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and platforms such as Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or OpenAI.
• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage senior executive stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in executive storytelling and workshop facilitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industries such as healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail, or the public sector.
• Experience with enterprise data modernization, cloud transformation, or AI operating model initiatives.
• Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and emerging global AI regulations.
• Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python.
