Agriculture Specialist, Commercial Banking

Responsibilities

• Proactively acquire and develop relationships with new agriculture prospects and high-value small business customers.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of agriculture clients, providing regular servicing and annual reviews.
• Develop an extensive network of referral sources through community involvement and industry events.
• Partner with Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, and Wealth partners to provide a coordinated market approach.
• Deliver specialized financial advice and solutions tailored to the specific needs of the agriculture sector.
• Promote Scotiabank's image within the agricultural community through leadership in local business groups.
• Ensure all credit and non-credit product sales follow governing regulations, internal policies, and risk appetite.

Requirements

• Experience in the field of Canadian Agriculture (educational or professional).
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
• Strong knowledge of business financial statements, specifically within the agriculture segment.
• Proven success in sales, marketing, and business development.
• Ability to travel extensively to customer farms and trade shows, often in adverse weather conditions.
• Possession of a reliable vehicle for territory travel.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients.
