Agriculture Specialist, Commercial Banking

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable sales of credit and non-credit products to agriculture customers and prospects within the assigned territory.
• Proactively acquire new high-value small business customers and develop relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs).
• Maintain and grow an allocated portfolio, including performing regular servicing and annual reviews for clients.
• Partner with Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, and Wealth Partners to provide a coordinated market approach to agriculture services.
• Act as a trusted advisor by identifying customer challenges and proposing holistic financial solutions.
• Promote the bank's image through active participation in industry events, trade shows, and community business groups.
• Ensure all documentation and credit requests adhere to bank policies, risk appetite, and authorized limits.

Requirements

• Experience in the field of Canadian Agriculture (either through education or professional work).
• Post-secondary education at the University or College level in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
• Strong knowledge of business financial statements, specifically within the agriculture segment.
• Proven success in sales, marketing, and business development.
• Ability to build and maintain key professional relationships and influence others.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for significant travel to customer farms and industry events.

Preferred Qualifications

• French language skills.
• Existing network within the local agricultural community in the Ottawa, Perth, Arnprior, Carleton Place, or Renfrew areas.
