Agentic Finance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a reliable financial data foundation using tools like dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake/BigQuery, and Airflow
• Partner with data infrastructure teams to build Mercor's financial data model, including canonical datasets and dimensional schemas
• Own the Agentic Finance roadmap, prioritizing use cases and driving features from ideation to deployment
• Identify and automate high-value finance tasks such as month-end close, reconciliations, and procurement workflows
• Build intelligent automation via AI agents and multi-step ETL jobs using APIs and frontier models
• Enforce data integrity standards and testing practices to ensure auditability and reliability

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in finance operations, data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science
• Deep understanding of finance and corporate operations (accounting, FP&A, strategic finance, procurement)
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in high-growth, early-stage environments
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both CFOs and engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying AI agents or LLM-powered tools
• Experience with financial data governance and audit readiness
• Background in strategic finance, accounting, or finance transformation in a high-growth tech company
