Agency Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Review prescreen packages for Affordable deals before submission to Freddie Mac TAH and Fannie Mae MAH teams
• Prepare or review underwriting templates and narratives summarizing loan structure, strengths, and risks
• Analyze operating history, budgets, rent rolls, and financial information to verify proforma alignment with Agency guidelines
• Review Borrower structure and complete organizational charts for mortgage credit due diligence
• Analyze Key Borrower Principal's real estate schedules and financial statements
• Review third-party reports including appraisals, environmental, engineering, and zoning
• Monitor transaction status to manage expectations and solve potential problems
• Coordinate with internal insurance teams and Agencies for insurance and waiver approvals
• Coordinate transaction closing between Production, attorneys, and title companies
• Conduct site visits with Borrowers, Production, and consultants as needed
• Draft Application and Commitment Letters, Rate Lock Agreements, and Trade Authorizations

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Agency Underwriting experience, specifically including Fannie MAH and Freddie TAH transactions
• Deep knowledge of Agency program requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe
• Ability to travel for site inspections
