The Department Advocate's Office mission is to ensure and maintain the integrity of the disciplinary process for all members of the New York Police Department.

Responsibilities

• Perform sophisticated legal work on behalf of the Department
• Conduct investigations and legal analysis of alleged misconduct for potential disciplinary action

Requirements

• Admission to the New York State Bar
• One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar, or six months of service as an Agency Attorney Interne
• For Assignment Level II: one year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience in related areas of law
