About the Company
The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Department Advocate's Office mission is to ensure and maintain the integrity of the disciplinary process for all members of the New York Police Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform sophisticated legal work on behalf of the Department
- Conduct investigations and legal analysis of alleged misconduct for potential disciplinary action
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar, or six months of service as an Agency Attorney Interne
- For Assignment Level II: one year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience in related areas of law
