About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct prevailing wage investigations through subpoenas, witness interviews, and document review
- Negotiate settlement agreements securing back pay for workers
- Represent the Comptroller’s Office in OATH proceedings under supervision
- Draft legal memoranda, prepare for hearings and trials, and perform legal research
- Support outreach, education, presentations, and implementation of new labor-related laws
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited U.S. law school or admission to the New York State Bar
- Ability to attain New York State Bar admission within 2 years if not already admitted
- Maintain New York State Bar membership in good standing if admitted
- Strong legal research, investigation, and litigation skills
