About the role
Responsibilities
- Foster youth development in an after-school setting for elementary students
- Lead students in enrichment activities aligned with program Priority Outcomes
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor to children in the community
- Support the After School team under the direction of Area Directors
Requirements
- Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
- At least 17 years of age; high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the school calendar year
- Earn and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
- Pass mandatory background and sex offender check
- Valid driver’s license or ID and dependable transportation
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Some post-secondary training
- Prior experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Spanish-speaking ability
