About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support after-school staff while cultivating a healthy team culture
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with parents and guardians through clear communication
  • Lead daily program operations and facilitate team launch meetings
  • Manage escalated student behaviors with wisdom and care, equipping staff to respond effectively
  • Serve as liaison to the Area Director, maintaining strong communication and timely reporting

Requirements

  • Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Must be at least 17 years of age; high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
  • Able to work Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the school calendar year
  • Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
  • Pass mandatory background and sex offender check
  • Valid driver’s license or ID and dependable transportation
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some post-secondary training
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children
  • Spanish-speaking ability
