About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in diverse activities including arts and crafts, sports, cooking projects, science, and movement.
- Provide direction, motivation, and supervision to elementary-aged participants to ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, participants, and parents or guardians.
- Monitor participant safety and address behavioral concerns as necessary.
- Document and relay accident or incident information to appropriate staff members.
- Assist children with homework and participate in required staff meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to take initiative.
- Effective, enthusiastic, and professional communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a flexible and mature attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform tasks such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, and standing.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
